Practice

Boone Low Ratliff Architects, Inc. is an award-winning firm that performs a variety of architectural and planning commissions, and seeks those projects that are challenging and have the potential for creative solutions.

The firm was a general partnership between David C. Boone FAIA and Jacquelyn Low AIA, Architects, Santa Cruz, California until the retirement of Mr. Boone in January 2004. After working together for more than seven years, Jacquelyn Low and Monica Ratliff became partners in January 2009. The firm is now a corporation.Jacquelyn Low and Monica Ratliff have more than thirty years of professional experience in architectural project planning, development, design and construction.

Approximately 50% of the firm’s work is in housing, including remodels and additions to existing structures, new single-family residences, and multiple family housing development projects. Other experience includes master planning and feasibility studies for non-profit organizations, private schools, churches, libraries, and facilities for government and institutional clients.

The first building to be awarded a platinum rating in Santa Cruz County. Also the 10,000th project to receive LEED certification in the United States.
