Elkhorn Slough is an ecological treasure at the heart of Monterey Bay. It provides much-needed habitat for hundreds of species of plants, animals and birds. The Elkhorn Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve and the Elkhorn Slough Foundation work with government, community agencies and other partners to protect this precious and scarce environment. It has been our privilege to partner with this amazing organization to design a new amphitheater and outdoor classroom for visitors and school groups, allowing them the opportunity to learn about the Slough and it’s diverse wildlife and plant species in an natural setting. The projects are underway and will be open to the public in 2020. Come and visit soon!
