Live Oak Resource Center

The Live Oak Resource Center is a project of the Redevelopment Agency of the County of Santa Cruz. The project is a new community resource center located at the northeast corner of the intersection of Capitola Road and 17th Avenue, in the unincorporated Live Oak area of Santa Cruz County. It houses two non-profit organizations, the Live Oak Family Resource Center and the Volunteer Center of Santa Cruz County.

This new facility is a two-story building of approximately 7,400 sq. ft. The building design incorporates many green features, including a “cool” roof, a photovoltaic system, rainwater harvesting, permeable paving, extensive daylighting, operable windows in occupied space, and the extensive use of recycled and rapidly renewable materials. The Live Oak Resource Center achieved a LEED Platinum rating and is the first LEED certified building owned and developed by the County of Santa Cruz.
