Habitat for Humanity- Frederick Street

Built as a new one bedroom, one bathroom 500 sf ADU, this was a Habitat for Humanity project that was constructed behind the main house, also a Habitat project. The main house was built in the Craftsman style, so care was taken in the ADU to match those materials and details.

The house was also constructed to be highly energy efficient earning a Green Building Award from the City of Santa Cruz by implementing construction techniques such as Advanced Framing and roof trusses with Energy Heels. Both the main house and the ADU were recipients of California Advanced Home Grants and will achieve 45% more efficiency than the standard California home.
